About Us . . .
The main purpose for The AuSable Collection is to bring the model Arabian and half-Arabian lovers and collecters together in one place. From Pedigree Assignment to tack makers, customizers and collecters of these beautiful representatives of the breed.
The AuSable Collection got its name after the AuSable River located here in Michigan, USA. In French, AuSable literally means "with sand", so I thought it a very fitting name for the Arabians and Half-Arabians featured here!
The word "Collection" takes on it's intended meaning. Protraying a "Collection" of some of the most beautiful and devine Arabian and Half-Arabian model horses in the world.

Hello Everyone -
I have been collecting model horses since my first Breyer at the age of 10 as a Birthday gift from my parents. That sweet old model, Misty, still resides with me after nearly 30 years.
I have been very lucky to have had horses around me throughout my lifetime. From my first pony at the age of 2, my Great Uncles faithful Quarter Horses, the great Black Stallion and all his many adventures, the high spirited racing Thoroughbreds that I was in charge of, to the wonderful Arabians I now take care of.
I was always spending every dime I made as a kid buying all the horse magazines I could get my hands on and borrowing every horse book the local Library had...well, the county had, would be more like it! lol
I spent my days reading and drawing...than later happily cleaning stalls and feeding horses for my friends in school. And now I'm passing that same love onto my children. My daughter is horse crazy and my son likes them.
I have been drawing horses since I was old enough to pick up a pencil and crayon. Over the years I've had the privilege to draw horses for many top trainers and owners in the equine industry.
I spend my days now as an Assistant Barn Manager for an Arabian Training Facility and when I'm not there, I'm home taking care of the homestead and kids and going fishing with my wonderful boyfriend...who is so very tolerable about my plastic horse addiction! He also has introduced me to the wonderful world of old British Motorcycles, as he is the proud owner of 3 of them.
I also enjoy photography. Mainly of the great outdoors. I really would one day like to publish a table-top book of Michigan's wildflowers and landscapes.

The horse pictured above and below is Momi. She was the actual insperational start of my Arabian addiction and the foundation of my black Arabian model bloodlines! She is pictured abovem with my than 9 year old daughter in 2005, a couple of months after I purchased her.
